Capabilities
One site, one management team, from pattern to inspected casting. This page is written for the engineer who needs to know whether we can make the part before anyone picks up the phone.
Processes
Green sand, automatic
Sintokogio FDNX-1 flaskless molding, 16 × 20 in molds, with an automatic mold-handling line. Repeat parts to about 8 to 10 kg: discs, drums, plates, pulleys, small housings, chill molds.
Green sand, jolt-squeeze and floor
BMM CT3 jolt-squeeze machines and floor molding for medium castings to 100 kg: glass mold bodies, counterweights, machine-tool parts. Sand prepared in a 160-ton green sand system with two Eirich mixers; rotary drum shakeout.
No-bake
Palmer 200 continuous mixer with a Richards reclaimer; sodium silicate binder cured with propylene carbonate. Low-volume and larger castings, markers and plaques, heat-resistant stainless.
Shell
Shell molding and automatic shell core making. Thin, accurate stainless parts, cores for ventilated discs and ladles.
Investment casting (lost wax)
Wax injection, ceramic shell, dewax and firing in-house since 2014, with wax reclamation. Small stainless parts with machined-grade accuracy, boiler and soot-blower components, art castings to about 20 kg.
Pattern shop and CAD
Wood, resin and aluminum patterns and core boxes; casting and pattern drawings in CAD; 3D-printed patterns and 3D scanning through MIRDC-DOST. Patterns stored and labeled for reorders.
Alloys
| Family | Grades we pour | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Gray iron | JIS FC200 to FC300 (ASTM A48 class 30 to 40); molybdenum-alloyed glass-mold iron; nickel-chrome iron | Brake discs and drums, machine-tool castings, glass mold bodies, markers, counterweights, chill molds |
| Ductile iron | JIS FCD450 to FCD600 (ASTM 80-60-03) | Rolling-mill guide inserts, pump and valve parts, structural castings |
| Heat-resistant stainless | JIS SCH13, SCH15, SCH20, SCH21; ACI HH, HK, HF; ASTM A351 CH20 on inquiry | Heat-treatment trays, jigs and fixtures; grate plates, nose rings and anchors; boiler and soot-blower parts |
| Corrosion-resistant stainless | CF8, CF8M types (304, 316 cast equivalents) | Valve bodies, pump parts, marine and water fittings |
| Wear alloys | High-chrome white iron (ASTM A532, 26 to 28% Cr); austenitic manganese steel | Crusher hammers and liners, mill liners, blasting-machine parts |
| Bronze | Silicon bronze (Minox type for glass neck rings), Cu-Sn bronze for plaques and art | Glass neck rings and guide plates, markers, sculpture, bushings |
Furnaces melt in air. Vacuum-grade superalloys and titanium are not our work; we say so on the first reply and name who we think should make the part.
Melting, size and heat treatment
- Mahima electric induction furnaces; every heat analyzed before pouring
- Sand castings to about 100 kg; investment castings to about 20 kg per piece
- Electric annealing ovens, Brainchild controls, to 960 °C, curves recorded
Machine shop
- Five CNC lathes, 12 in chuck
- Chevalier and Mazak AJV vertical machining centers
- Koyo CNC double-disc grinder; Cincinnati and Heald internal grinders
- Conventional milling, drilling and grinding; shot blast; paint

Laboratory and inspection
- SpectroMAXX optical emission spectrometer, certified reference materials, chemistry of every heat before it is poured
- Heraeus Electro-Nite carbon-equivalent meter and immersion thermocouples at the furnace
- Olympus metallurgical microscope, 100× and 400×, for macro and micro examination and nodularity
- Rockwell and Brinell hardness testers
- Mitutoyo coordinate measuring machine for dimensional reports
- Alkempt sand laboratory: moisture, compactability, permeability, green strength, loss on ignition, grain fineness
- Tensile tests and non-destructive testing at accredited third-party laboratories
