For buyers in Japan, Australia, the United States, ASEAN and Europe
Buying from the Philippines
Most of our work ships by truck to plants within two hours of the foundry. Some of it goes abroad, and the paperwork for a casting is no mystery. This page says how we quote, pack, document and ship so your broker and your quality department have what they need before the first order.
How we quote
- EXW Sto. Tomas is our base: your forwarder collects at the plant.
- FCA Batangas or Manila, CFR or CIF to your port on request; DAP for ASEAN plants when the lane is familiar.
- Prices in US dollars or Philippine pesos. Export sales are VAT zero-rated under Philippine law; domestic sales carry 12% VAT.
- Tooling and unit prices stated separately; patterns are yours once paid for and stay with us for reorders.
- Payment: 50% with the order, 50% against shipping documents, by telegraphic transfer to Union Bank of the Philippines. A letter of credit on larger orders.
Ports and transit
Batangas International Port is 40 km from the plant; Manila's container terminals about 90 km. Typical sea transit after loading: Japan 7 to 14 days, Australia 14 to 21, US West Coast 21 to 30, Europe 35 to 45. Air freight from Manila for samples and urgent small parts. Add one to two weeks to our production lead time for crating, inspection and export clearance.
Documents with every export
- Commercial invoice and packing list, with HS codes and weights per crate
- Mill certificate: heat number, chemistry, hardness, microstructure and heat-treatment chart as specified; EN 10204 3.1 format on request
- Certificate of conformance to your drawing and specification; dimensional report
- Certificate of origin for preferential duty: ATIGA Form D (ASEAN), PJEPA Form JP (Japan), AANZFTA (Australia and New Zealand), AKFTA (Korea), RCEP, through the Bureau of Customs; a general certificate from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry for other destinations; EU GSP+ by REX statement once we are registered for your first order
- Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or TÜV at your cost, and customer audits in person; we were audited yearly as a just-in-time safety-part supplier for decades
Packing
- Heat-treated timber crates and pallets with the ISPM-15 mark, verified with the treatment provider before closing
- Machined faces oiled or VCI-wrapped; castings blocked and strapped; gross weight marked per crate
- Steel returnable crates for repeat ASEAN lanes

If you are sending us something
Patterns, samples and tooling you send for a project clear Philippine customs as an ordinary import; tell us the declared value and HS code you used, and consign to Metals Engineering Resources Corporation at the plant address. We handle the entry. Wooden packaging must carry the ISPM-15 mark or it will be held.
Metercor is a locator in a PEZA-administered industrial park, not a PEZA-registered export enterprise. That means no export quota applies to us and nothing restricts domestic sales; it also means your goods clear under the ordinary procedures your broker knows.
