Steel mills and mining
Rolling mills and crushers eat castings. We make the ductile-iron guide inserts that steer hot bar through a rebar mill, and the high-chrome iron liners and hammers that take the beating in crushers and mills, in a size range of one to one hundred kilograms, with a pattern bank so the next set is a heat away.
Steel mills
- Entry and delivery guide inserts for rebar and section mills in FCD600-3 (ASTM 80-60-03) ductile iron, with chill-wedge control and microstructure checks per heat
- Trialed in the mill against OEM and local benchmark parts stand by stand, tensile tests certified by an accredited laboratory
- Melted on renewable electricity in induction furnaces, mostly from recycled metal: green iron for mills building low-carbon supply chains
- Replace-not-repair: a cracked ductile guide welded with the wrong electrode fails again; we would rather you had a spare on the shelf
Mining and aggregates
- Trunnion liners, shell liners and wave plates in ASTM A532 class III high-chrome white iron, normalized
- Crusher hammers and impact bars in manganese steel and Cr-Mn steel
- Slurry pump and chute wear parts on inquiry; export wear parts were supplied to New Zealand in 2018 and 2019
What to send
- Drawing or the worn part, with stand or position
- Alloy and service life today
- Set size, consumption per year, shutdown dates
- Tests and certificates your mill requires
Mill parts are a volume-and-SKU business: every diameter and stand position is its own part. We quote tooling and unit price separately and keep every pattern, so the long tail is priced honestly.
